It has been an amazing, exciting and exceptional year of dance, theater, music, cheerleading, baton, art and WONDERS at Arts in Action!

The students, passionate about pursuing the arts with purpose, have worked exceptionally hard in their classes, increasing their technique, capabilities and advancing to the next level in their art method.

We also celebrated His Garden of Wonders and experienced His amazing Wonders as we received miracle after miracle through His Favor and Grace.  It truly has been a year beyond anything that we could “think or imagine”! I am humbled beyond measure at all the Lord has done during the 2010-2011 season at Arts in Action.

Our first miracle of the season was in August, 2010 when Second Chance Construction walked through the doors of Arts in Action to renovate and remodel our 5,000 square feet to include a third  studio to house the theater and cheer program, an art studio and a studio for private lessons in musical instruments, including Thunder Percussion.

The Lord provided all of the finances and workers that we needed for the labor, building materials, supplies and equipment. He even provided for the paint and decorating materials and a team of high school students who gave up time at the pool and with friends to serve the Lord by painting and cleaning.

We opened in September with four new programs and four new highly skilled teachers with a passion to teach with integrity and excellence. And that is just the beginning, He has been faithful and true to provide hardworking faithful volunteers to reception, clean, complete odd jobs and help in many other areas. Joining our team were two dedicated and formidable volunteers to help in administration, grant writing and bookkeeping.

The Lord provided two new dedicated dancers to serve with me every Wednesday at Urban Stage to shine His Light into the lives of under-served and at-risk youth.  We have filled up a poster board (writing small) listing the numerous ways the Lord has provided for the ministry in miraculous ways. From successful fundraisers, grants, and donations to support from the community and civic organizations, He has provided! Every good gift is from Above!

One of the greatest Wonders and Miracles the Lord blessed us with are the students, families and staff that the Lord brought through the doors of Arts in Action and Urban Stage for this year.   It was not uncommon to witness mothers and fathers in the waiting area praying for one another, teens and children praying in the halls or the changing room or to hear students encourage each other.  At Urban Stage students were asking if they could pray and children calling out “I am God’s Masterpiece”!  From day one of the new season there was a spirit of unity and purpose that has remained to this day that brought forth Kingdom Fruit that will ripple into eternity.

We fulfilled our mission to provide comprehensive, professional and positive education and performance opportunities in the arts for all ages and abilities with a Christian influence regardless of race, religion, gender or economic restraints.  Fulfilling our vision that no person be excluded from arts education due to financial hardships, Arts in Action awarded over $100,000 in reduced fees and financial aid.

We are dedicated to operating Arts in Action with integrity and establishing partnerships with local church, civic and community organizations, with private enterprises and with other non-profit programs to build strong relationships to magnify our impact in the community.

The 2011 Arts Celebration fulfils our mission to provide performance opportunities and we are thrilled that the Arts Celebration showcased over 180 students in multiple art methods.  We are excited about all that God is already orchestrating for this summer and the fall!  We invite you to join us as we help students discover, nurture, and develop their artistic gifts to their personal best in a caring and safe environment.

I witnessed in amazement as our Creator God orchestrated and established this ministry on the foundation of His Word thirteen years ago and  I  praise Him daily for His faithfulness to provide, lead, guide, enable and anoint us to join Him in His work.
